Women in strained marriages are more likely to feel depressed and suffer high blood pressure, obesity and other signs of "metabolic syndrome," a group of risk factors for heart disease, stroke and diabetes, University of Utah psychologists found.

Depression, Anxiety Among Overweight Teenagers Varies By Race, Ethnicity, Study Finds

Some overweight teenagers are more likely than normal weight teens to show symptoms of depression or anxiety, though there are differences by race and ethnicity, according to a study published in the February issue of Pediatrics, Reuters Health reports. First-ever Genetic Link Between Obesity And Colon Cancer Risk Revealed

A new study reveals the first-ever genetic link between obesity and colon cancer risk, a finding that could lead to greater accuracy in testing for the disease, said a researcher at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).
The discovery also may improve efforts to ward off colon cancer with obesity-fighting activities like exercise, weight loss and healthy eating.

Persons With Serious Mental Illness Face Higher Prevalence Of Obesity
